The Inspiration for writing The Crown in My Curls
I was in beauty school when I was 19 and a mother brought her 5 year old in for a jerry curl. The little girl had a lot of wavy bushy hair. The mother didn't let the hairstylist know that she had applied a relaxer on her daughter's hair and after the jerry curl processing was done, her hair came out on the rods as the hairsylist removed them. The little girl cried so hard as she looked in the mirror at her damaged hair.
My intent is to empower, uplift and inspire little girls worldwide to accept their unique beautiful curls and have self-love.
